John – I just wanted to say a huge thank you to yourself and Adrian and Khan, you were all brilliant. Not only during the performance but it was lovely to have you at the village hall bash as well!

I think infinite equation are going to go a long long long way!

Much love and thanks again

Dear John,

Many thanks for inviting me to give you my feedback after Saturday night's show at Tugnet Ice House, and to send you a sample of my poems.

Firstly, I want to say that I sat there utterly inspired by the very idea.
How simple; how clever - poetry to musical accompaniment. Of course!

The singer in me kept wanting you to burst into song - yet it so worked. It made me LISTEN, which I don't always do to songs, even though I might love them.

What struck me most though was the sheer depth and enormity of your words. So rich, so important. Mine are simplistic, silly, naive. I love the fact the English language is so much more than we usually know. I mourn the fact I know so little!

During the interval, I told my boyfriend that we must perform our work (he has written a few pieces - all much more clever than mine). I spent the rest of the second half mulling over possible venues. That is, until the Whale Song.
How powerful is that!

Khan, I think his name was, your sculptor friend who lent his van, told me to "Just wait for the last one; it's as if the whale is speaking," and it was. I was mesmerised and couldn't release the grin on my face!

Do let me know if you are doing any more performances, as I would love to come. If another performer inspires me to create then their work has worked for me.

Many thanks.

Much love,

Glynis Newberry
